Heroes For Hire

Ah, the classic comic book bromance: Blue Beetle and Booster Gold, Wonder Man and Beast, Superman and Batman... and one of my all time favorites, Luke Cage and Iron Fist. These guys couldn't be more different but they always have each others back and they always kick ass. I would love to see them back together in an ongoing title again!

I'm Just Here For The Gasoline

Man, I love the Mad Max movies so much. Road Warrior especially, which is what I based Max's look on. And the V8 Interceptor is possibly the coolest movie car of all time. Every once in a while I hear talk of a fourth Max movie, Thunder Road. I would so love to see that movie get made though it would probably be without Mel Gibson at this point. But hey, if they can make a Tron 2 maybe the Road Warrior will ride the white line nightmare once again.

Release The Kraken!

Nice pick, Mr. Eisma! I've been meaning to draw The Kraken for ages. He reminds me of Wolverine back when Wolverine was cool. The 80's Wolverine who gutted people for looking at him funny and had absolutely no past whatsoever and thought an eye-patch was a good disguise.

Something Went Wrong

Whoops, later than usual! Yeah, yeah, The Fly is the obvious choice right? I was originally going to do Carl Fogarty from History of Violence, even sketched out some ideas but I wasn't digging any of them. Finally just decided that the Brundlefly would be incredibly fun to draw and guess what?

(Un)Dead Presidents

UPDATED - Yeah, I put the name Franklin D. Roosevelt there before. No idea why I did that, I know the freakin' difference between Teddy Roosevelt and Franklin Roosevelt. Thank you Craig for calling me on it.

Originally someone suggested I do Jefferson Davis for this theme which was a unique idea but I wasn't totally convinced. Of course, once the idea of UNdead presidents popped into my head... well that was that. The zombified bunch includes George Washington, Abraham Lincoln and good old Grover Cleveland. And of course there's tough-talking, zombie-smashing Theodore Roosevelt (not Franklin Roosevelt, the WWII president as I had erroneously put before. Gah, whatta maroon) down there in the corner 'cause really, if there was going to be a zombie hunting president it probably woulda been him right? Bully!

The Crow

I hate drawing long hair so I was kind of worried about how this would turn out. Then I decided to use a brush pen for the hair and decided to make it look like feathers. Added the feather texture in Photoshop to complete the effect. Always wanted to do a nice looking Crow piece and I'm really digging the way this turned out.

Street Fighter: Cammy

Never been much of a gamer. I can't even remember the last time I played a game of Street Fighter. But I know a little bit about a little bit. I've always been a huge fan of the Street Fighter character designs and this version of Cammy is one of my favorites. Sorry for the lateness!

Total Protonic Reversal

Man, I took way too long on this thing. But I had to make sure it looked good! The Ghostbusters deserve it. Played around with this piece a little, tried doing kind of a faux zip-a-tone thing with the shading. Tried really hard to get all of their likenesses down. I meant to have a cigarette hanging off of Ray's lip (it's even in the rough I did) but when I got to the final drawing I totally forgot about it. Anyway, hope you dig it!

Paul Milligan

Call me Ishmael. On second thought just stick with Paul. I draw comics. Been doing that since I can remember. Some might call me passionate. Some might call me crazy. Some might even call me fat, but that isn't very nice and has nothing to do with what we're talking about here. Under the banner of Stumblebum Studios I and my Stumblebum compatriots self-published several anthologies and one-shots including Mars 1938, The Bradley Boys Adventure Magazine and It Came From Stumblebum. Since 2008 I've been working with writer David Hopkins on Souvenir of Dallas, a one-page comic appearing in D Magazine every other month. Most recently I became a member of that ancient and illustrious order of ink-slinging atomic space knights, Space-Gun Studios and released God of Rock, an 80-page collection of my 24-Hour comic trilogy starring... er... The God of Rock. Currently I'm hard(ly) at work on a 48-page one-shot, Dash Bradley and The Flying Fortresses of Death and How To Lose Big, a graphic novel written by David (him again?) Hopkins.
